Raiders of the Local Adventure

An experiential romp spoofing your favorite pulp adventure stories with engaging interactivity.

Adventure is a walk in the park…

Grab your fedora, secure any national documents, put on your necklace that may or may not have come from Sir Francis Drake himself, and come join Raiders of the Local Adventure. This interactive expedition brings you on a journey through Central Park in search of a lost artifact, spoofing your favorite pulp adventure stories along the way. Watch out for betrayal, danger, meddling Europeans, cryptic clues, a fear of a specific animal, and more, in this wacky adventure!

Creative Team: Connor Wahrman, Nick Orvis, Becky Ho, and Andrew Agress

Workshop Participants: Jason Kasman, Liv Rigdon, Phoebe Brooks, Sydney Guye, Vivienne Shaw, Randall Simons, and Becky Ho

Audience Role

Each audience member takes on the role of an adventurer on an expedition. But no need to come as a character, just be yourself! Audience members will assist the Adventuring Archeological Society in their pursuit of a lost artifact by solving clues and riddles, making choices, and lending occasional moral support.

For especially intrepid explorers, allow for some additional time past the hour-long experience for a potential further adventure...

Performance Info and Dates

The expedition of Raiders of the Local Adventure takes about an hour, with some optional additional time for especially intrepid explorers. Do note that as an expedition, the journey consists of walking on both paved and unpaved trails with moderate inclines. We highly recommend wearing comfortable shoes and planning accordingly. The expedition may also get rescheduled due to inclement weather. In this event, we will reach out to all explorers by noon on the day of the experience.
